As the end of the first round of Rwanda Premier League edges closer, clubs are already considering bringing in players to beef up their squad when the mid-season transfer window opens on January 1, 2023.

Normally, the January transfer window is very strategic as clubs buy players who have excelled already in the first round of the league while players struggling for game time also consider their future elsewhere.

Times Sport takes a look at four players who are likely to change clubs in the Rwandan Premier League in January.

Yafesi Mubiru (Sunrise FC)

The Ugandan forward has been in fine form for Sunrise FC so far this season, netting seven league goals.

Times Sport understands that he is on the radar of a host of clubs including Kiyovu Sports. Sunrise FC already have Samson Babuwa and could cash in on Mubiru and make good business out of him.

Moro Sumaila (Etincelles)

The Ghanaian striker has eight goals and four assists in the 12 league games to his name so far this season and has been a major threat in attack against a number of top clubs, with Rayon Sports his latest casualty as he hit a brace to inspire Etincelles to a 3-2 victory over the Blues.

Moro has been phenomenal in attack and has been arguably the best player in the league despite his club occupying a mid-table position.

With Cameroonian attacker Man Ykre struggling for form at AS Kigali, Times Sport can confirm that Moro Sumaila is a target for the City of Kigali-sponsored team.

With coach Casa Mbungo, this season, eager to win the league title for the first time in the club's history, Moro’s potential partnership with current league top goal scorer Shabani Hussein would do some magic upfront.

Rayon Sports are also admirers of the attacker and it’s no surprise that they could swoop for his services.

Moro has one and a half years remaining on his contract but, as things stand, he is destined to be sold sooner or later.

Arthur Gitego (Marine FC)

Marines may be lying at the bottom of the league but they have a prolific player in Arthur Gitego who has been excellent so far this season.

The player is reportedly on Kiyovu's radar with AS Kigali also prepared to join the race to sign him in January.

Gitego is regarded as the man who could save Marine’s season and keep them in the first division and clubs could find it difficult to secure his services.

It will be very strange if the club takes risks of selling their best player this early.

Samson Ikechukwu (Espoir FC)

The Nigerian attacker has scored four goals in the ongoing 2022/23 season and has put up some decent performances.

He is being monitored by Bugesera FC who could swoop for him in the upcoming transfer window in January.
