THE staff of Nakumatt Supermarket in Kigali on Thursday visited the Gisozi memorial site to honour victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

According to Stephen Muthiani, the Deputy Manager of Nakumatt, this was done to show the Kenyan-based retail supermarket chain stands with the people of Rwanda to remember the horrific moments that befell the country in 1994.

"Our visit to Gisozi memorial site is to demonstrate that we stand together with the Rwandan people at
"As we remember the past, it should also give us the spirit of togetherness, unity and work for the development of the country..

Daniel Nyarunda, one of the staff who was visiting the site for the first time, was short for words at what he saw at the site.

"I cannot imagine the loss to the country in terms of human resource capacity among others,” Nyarunda said.

"It is possible to forgive when people ask to be forgiven although it is difficult to forget about it”.
