Editor,
As we all commemorate the day when the dreaded Genocide against the Tutsi began sixteen years ago, we not only remember the dear departed, but also the survivors who, against all odds were able to withstand the hundred days of horror that followed.
Rwanda as a nation has shown great resilience and has emerged victorious over the evil forces. Such a comeback has only been possible because of the combined effort of the Government and the people of Rwanda.
While we bow our heads in prayer and reverence, remembering all the innocent lives lost, it is also a time to resolve not to allow ever again, such evil forces to destroy the fabric of the Land of a Thousand Hills.
Despite its past, Rwanda is a beautiful country that should always remain as the Land of a Million Smiles!
