EMMANUEL Ruremesha was yesterday confirmed as the new head coach of Rayon Sport. The post had been vacant following Jean Baptista Kayiranga’s resignation last week citing excruciating pressure from club fans.

Rajab Bizimuremye was also appointed as the club’s new technical director and Rayon’s Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya says that the pair has three months to cement their positions at the club.

"They have been given three months to prove their worth. After that, we shall decide whether to keep them for the long-term or not,” Gakwaya said.

Ruremesha, who has been Sam Timbe’s assistant at Atraco, has vast experience in Rwandan football after also working with the likes of Mukura and Etincelles but insists that fans need to give his coaching staff time.

"We are not going to promise heaven on earth but we promise to do our best. Success will not come in a short run so fans need to be patient,” he begged.

Ruremesha, who will be assisted by Morris Nshimiyimana alias Maso (who was Kayiranga’s assistant), has no time to settle in as the Primus national football league swings back in action this afternoon.

Ruremesha’s Rayon reign starts with a tie against relegation battling side Musanze at Nyamirambo’s regional stadium.

With the title well out of reach, Ruremesha knows that the side can still finish inside the top four with a good run in their remaining fixtures against Amagaju and bitter rivals APR.

Rayon’s last league title dates back in 2004 under the tutelage of Kayiranga although he was controversially sacked a year later.
