Justice Minister, Tharcisse Karugarama, displays the International ‘Unity is Strength’ award the country won for promoting unity he received on behalf of President Paul Kagame.

The award was given to Rwanda in recognition of her efforts to promote unity among the people, showing great efforts in cultural diversity and elimination of discrimination, as well as the integration of minority groups into society.

"Rwanda is the sixth country to receive this high profile prestigious award that is given out by ‘Unity is Strength Foundation’ in the Netherlands,” said Karugarama.

During the ceremony, panelists said that Rwanda has played a strong and active role in combating poverty through providing equal opportunities for all the people in the country, promotion of the rights of women and other minority groups and the active stimulation of youths.
