60 Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC’s) from the sectors of Kimihurura and Remera will be trained in Business Administration, by Rwanda Development Board (RDB) after submitting winning business plans.

The training which is funded by World Vision through its Economic Development program is designed to make the OVC’s self reliant and job creators.

"Some of us have failed in business simply because we lacked training,” one of the selected youth said.

Olive Uwantege, from the National Youth Council commended World Vision for the initiative.

"This program will supplement the government’s efforts in tackling the growing number of unemployed youths,” Uwantege said. "It will help them start income-generating projects and at the same time create employment for others.”

She advised the trainees to optimise their potential and warned them against misusing the support they receive.
