An abrupt audit which is currently going on could not readily establish the exact amount by press time but well placed sources say the amount missing could be close to Rwf2million.
The cashier, who was identified as Denis Rukumbuzi Musore, disappeared over the weekend and is suspected to have secretly fled the country.
When contacted, the branch manager, Richard Mugambage confirmed the incidence but declined to comment further citing the pending investigations.
"Yes, the man is on the run and police are following up. But an abrupt audit is going on to establish the exact amount of money that is missing,” Mugambage said.
