RWANDA’s preparations for the upcoming Sitting Volleyball World Cup have been given a huge boost by the arrival of Dutch coach Jouke de Haan.

The experienced tactician will fine tune the team ahead of the global showpiece which will run from July 9-18 in Oklahoma, USA.

Rwanda booked her ticket to the event after finishing second to Egypt in last year’s Great Lakes sitting volleyball championship which was held at Amahoro stadium.

The President of the National Paralympics Committee (NPC) Dominique Bizimana, who is also an integral member of the team, said that Jouke de Haan is the best candidate for the task at hand.

"On top of introducing the game in Rwanda, he also coached the team during last year’s Great lakes championship so he knows the team inside out.”

The 63-year-old is also an instructor for the Algerian and Malaysian teams.
