Construction work for the seven-block complex to accommodate 600 orphans of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi is set to begin in May, Eng. Appolinaire Sayinzoga, the Project Manager has revealed.

In an exclusive interview with The New Times, Sayinzoga said that the plans for construction were in progress.

"Preparations for the groundbreaking are in high gear and the process to secure the land where the construction would be erected is also going on, apart for some bureaucratic impediments,” Sayinzoga said.

He, however, said that by May this year, all the procedures would fully be in order.

According to Sayinzoga, the latest figures indicate that Rwf1.038 billion has so far been pledged for the project.

The campaign targeted to collect Rwf1.5 billion.
