ATRACO will go top of the Primus National Football League table with a win over Police this afternoon at the Kigali Regional Stadium, Nyamirambo.

With 37 points from 17 matches, Atraco, champions in 2007, march into the tie two points adrift of league leaders and reigning champions APR and Atraco’s assistant coach Emmanuel Ruremesha views this as a perfect opportunity to leapfrog the army side.

"We know what is at stake so we are focusing on what we have to do to make sure we go top.” "Police are not an easy side as we have seen this season but we’re also  a good team and hope to battle our way through,” he said.

However, the taxi-men side will have to overcome Police without the services of their influential defender Donatien Tuyisenge.

The left full-back is nursing a hamstring injury.
"He still feels a lot of discomfort so he won’t play against Police.

"Of course he is a big miss for us but that won’t stop us from going for the result we want,” Ruremesha continued.

While Atraco registered a 2-1 win over Amagaju over the weekend, Police suffered a disappointing 0-1 defeat against AS Kigali but will be boosted by the return of their star forward Roger Tchouassi, who was suspended for the weekend tie.

Tchouassi is the league’s top scorer with 13 goals.
Meanwhile, at Mumena, heads will roll as a re-energized SC Kiyovu clashes with Electrogaz.

Kiyovu, who will miss Burundian winger Fuad Ndayisenga through suspension, head into the tie with utmost confidence following Saturday’s 3-2 win over old foes Rayon Sport and Jean Marie Ntagwabira is well aware that victory today will leave his side fourth.

In recent meetings, Electrogaz has proved a hard nut to crack but Ntagwabira reckons that this is an opportunity his guns will not waste.

"Our ultimate target now is to finish fourth and we know we can do it if we put a good run together. Confidence is sky high after Rayon’s win and we want it to stay that way.”
