We all know of the world that surrounds us that gives meaning to who, what and where we are. Take for example, the oceans, lakes, rivers and seas from whose water we attribute our health, our recreation, our development in terms of infrastructure (construction) and of course the life of our aquatic animals… try imagining the world without them because I failed.

The air; oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, you name it, working for the benefit of all forms of life and its necessities.
The minerals under the earth; copper, gold, diamond, iron, zinc, cobalt, etc from whom we find individual, national and inter national wealth and developed wellbeing.
The animal life round us, both domestic and wild providing us with food, adventure due to the fascination they cause and company too! Especially since they’re the closest form of life to humans, our life definitely includes them.
All these give meaning and shape to the life we live and give nature its beauty. Its a little wonder man found reason to exploit it all.
Look at the hills, mountains and the valleys and the work of art that they reveal. The green surrounding them from the plant life that grows out of the soil, bringing us the meal of the day and the various fascinating kinds of flowers to find out about. Talking of plant life, it has even found its way of surviving under water and has definitely not left its beauty on land!
I wonder if like me, anyone ever wonders upon the seasons; summer, winter, autumn and spring. Each with its own distinct way of amazement.
The night and day, the time and the features that make it; the sun, the moon, stars, darkness and daylight! Things that leave me in awe, thinking ‘How great is the mind from which all this was conceived ’
The people around us too, making each day a wonderful experience or at least one to learn, grow and know more from. These people that shape who we are, influence what we are and where we aim to be.
Well, on the other hand, too much of any of these can cause disaster on earth. If we care to know, we’ll notice we are the very cause of this ‘disaster’ inform of global warming, animal extinction, climate and season change, desertification, etc
Scientists say man is spoiling the environment and what’s worse, they predict these might not exist ’50 years to come’ for the earth!
While we’re busy imagining how better the world and the people in it will be ‘in the next 50 years!’ I suggest we take a thought about what state of the world we would want our descendants to live in and how much of it we’d want them to enjoy, if we even want them to live in it because surely, can’t you see the danger ahead?
Should we protect and keep balancing our environment and its treasures? I definitely think so!
