Nador-Marghmia-Oujda (170km)

THE national cycling team ‘Team Rwanda’ has failed to make a meaningful impact at the on-going Tour of Morocco.

After the first three stages and ahead of yesterday’s fourth stage, four-time Tour of Rwanda Champion Abraham Ruhumuriza was the best placed rider in the 42nd slot after using 11hours, 15 minutes and five seconds while compatriot Nicodem Habiyambere came in 45th position.

Croatian Dean Podgornik topped the rankings with a time of 11 hours and 12 minutes.

125 riders from 22 teams are taking part in the 10-stage event. Besides Ruhumuriza and Habiyambere, Nathan Byukusenge, Gasore Hategeka, Rafiki Uwimana and Obed Ruvogera are the other riders on Team Rwanda.

Today, the tour heads into stage five where riders will cover a distance of 170km from Nador through Marghmia to Oujda.
