JEAN Marie Ntagwabira is convinced SC Kiyovu can still finish fourth in the Primus National Football league after Saturday’s 3-2 victory over old foes Rayon Sport.
The Green and White outfit produced one of their best performances of the season as they came from two down to edge past Baptist Kayiranga’s side at a fairly packed Nyamirambo’s regional stadium.
While the victory moved Kiyovu to within a point of fourth placed Rayon, it also widened their lead over sixth placed Police to four points and Ntagwabira now believes his side is in the mood to mount a strong finish to the season.
"The victory has revitalized the side and we now have a good opportunity to leapfrog Rayon when we play Electrogaz on Wednesday.”
"We had less tempo before the break but upped our rhythm after half time. We know that we have to keep going and that it will be difficult but we have to try.
"The players have confidence and if we can play at this level I’m sure we will win more games,” he added.
Rayon started off sharply with two quick goals from Theoneste Muhayimana and Amavubi Stars young midfielder Jamal Mwiseneza but on the 32nd minute, Fuadi Ndayisenga got one back for Kiyovu.
After the break, Pappy Nkunda leveled matters while former Etincelles and APR striker Eric Serugaba struck the winner 17 minutes from time.
