Editor,

The news that Rwanda won the 2010 Diversity Award was very impressive. As a Rwandan who has witnessed the journey the country has undertaken over the last 16 years, I feel that the award is a sign that the international community is recognizing the efforts Rwandans are putting in to reconstruct Rwanda.

Rwanda, was at one time known for all the wrong reasons. However, today, it is peaceful, united and quickly developing - leaving many people in shock.

This reward and the many more that we have received should motivate us to work even harder and become more prosperous.

I acknowledge that there are many challenges along the way, however, where there is a will, there is a way. We have proved that whatever we set minds on, we can achieve.

Let us focus on making our country a better place, the future holds so many opportunities that are waiting for us to benefit from.
