AS APR continue their preparations for what should be a mouthwatering Orange Champions League return leg against TP Mazembe this Saturday, the side’s head coach Erik Paske is adamant his guns will prevail infront of the intimidating Congolese fans.

The ten-time league champions head into the tie in a superior position following a shocker 1-0 win over the competition’s reigning champions in the first leg which was held in Kigali eight days ago.

Substitute Albert Ngabo netted the all important goal two minutes from time and the Dutch tactician believes that his team is in a familiar position as their first round tie with Recreativo do Libolo where they had to get a result away from home to progress to the next stage.

"We were in a similar position against Recreativo and came through so I don’t see why we should not prevail in Kinshasa.”

But Paske, who turned 45 this month, was also quick to concede that it would not be easy.

"We need to be at our very best because Mazembe have vast experience in the competition and with stars like Tresor Mputu, Guy Lusadisu, Jean Kaluyituka and Given Singuluma, we need to be alert and try to play with the right attitude,” he added.

Because of their Champions league obligations, the army side’s weekend league fixture against Etincelles was rescheduled for April 24.

Last year, Mazembe coasted to their third Champions League title after trouncing Heartland of Nigeria in the final.
