ATHLETICS coach Eric Karasira has backed Rwanda’s team to put in a strong challenge for medals in Sunday’s World Cross Country Championship in Poland.
Before the team’s departure yesterday afternoon, Karasira said that he had big hopes in the experienced trio of Eric Sebahire, Evariste Nzabonimpa and Sylvain Rukundo.
"The team should do well this time round because they have prepared well unlike last year when they hardly trained,” he said.
The team which left aboard Ethiopian Airways also has Felix Ntirenganya, Claudette Mukasakindi, Pelagie Musengimana and Francine Ingabire.
Gervais Hakizimana, who has been training in France, will link up with the rest of the team in Bydgoszcz on Saturday.
