2009 CAF local African player of the year Tresor Mputu has warned APR to expect a roller coaster when the side travels to Kinshasa next week for the Orange Champions League second round return leg against the competition’s reigning champions TP Mazembe.

The TP Mazembe skipper recently told a local radio station that APR should be prepared for a coarse welcome in DRC.
"We didn’t play well in Kigali and expect a totally different performance here (DRC).”

We are so confident on qualification because we have not only prepared well for this game but also for the title defence,” Mputu, who has been linked with a move to premiership side Arsenal in the past told DR Congo media.

Mputu also conceded that he failed to impose himself on the game in Kigali. "In football, sometimes things don’t go your way but hopefully I will have a better game in the return leg.”

Mazembe suffered a shock 1-0 defeat in the first leg courtesy of late strike from Albert Ngabo.

The winger, who had come on for the injured Abbas Rassou in the second round scored a brilliant individual goal after dribbling past two Mazembe defenders Hichani Himonde and Jean Kasusule before beating goalie Robert Kidiaba.

While a draw will see APR through, Mazembe, who have won the competition in 1968, 1969 and 2009, need a win to progress to the next stage.

Meanwhile, the army side is moved three points clear at the top of National Primus League table standing after yesterday’s 3-2 win over Police.

Albert Ngabo and the Malawi duo of Victor Nyirenda and Msowoya Chikuepo scored APR‘s goals while Roger Tchouassi scored a brace for Police to take his tally to 13 goals.
