RWANDA’S straight sets victory over South Africa at the on-going World Youth Olympic volleyball qualifiers in Cairo, Egypt is testament that the future is bright.

After successive defeats against Kenya and Tunisia, Paul Bitok’s side made up for that tumble with a convincing 3-0 set victory (25-9, 25-13, 25-19) that lasted nearly two hours.

Rwanda’s skipper Izabayo Feza Regine was on target for the side, which is now third with six points after winning two and losing two.

Egypt, who registered their fourth successive win at the event after thrashing DRC 3-0 lead the table with eight points, one clear of North African rivals Tunisia, who romped to their third win of the competition after overpowering Kenya 3-1.

Rwanda, who wind up their campaign with a tough tie against hosts later today, started off well with victory over DRC but failed to uphold that display as they crumbled against Tunisia and their East African counterparts Kenya.

The Youth Games are scheduled for August 14-28 in Singapore.
