KAMONYI – The Social Democratic Party of Rwanda will meet in May this year to elect its new party leaders, the party’s First vice-president, Marc Rugenera said.
"The May assembly will elect new office bearers and decide whether to nominate a presidential candidate or not,” he said.
Rugenera was addressing over 60 PSD members who turned up for the party congress in Kamonyi district last Sunday.
He said, "The main objective will be to elect a party leader who will be given responsibility to implement the party’s five-year manifesto.”
Party members were urged to promote democracy, and participate in development activities.
The PSD top leadership commended the government for its efforts in promoting development in the past years, distancing their party from any negative forces.
During the meeting, three party Kamonyi district committee members were also sworn-in, vowing to serve the party interests and promote national development.
