HUYE – At least 2500 students from the National University of Rwanda (NUR) have been selected to undergo training in leadership, development and civic education.
The six-months training was organised by the Forum of district students

Association (DUSAF), in conjunction with the University and Huye district.

The students will attend the course every Sunday.
Speaking during the launch of the training last Sunday, Dr Aloys Ruzibiza, a university official, noted that the institution will do its best to ensure that the
training achieves its goals.

"The university will try to assist students during the training in order to ensure that they get quality training,” Dr Ruzibiza said.

The Huye district Mayor, Francois Uhagaze, called on the trainees to value the course which he said would prepare them to serve the country in different capacities.

"You should know that the society needs you, so give value to what you are learning in order to be able to put it in practice after the training,” the Mayor told the students.
"After the course, you should be able to initiate development projects, for instance.”

He revealed that government employees are undergoing similar training at the Rwanda Institute of Administration and Management (RIAM).
