Silverbacks reached the finals of the Bowl category in both the Hima Makerere 10s and the Nakuru sevens tournaments last year.
SILVERBACKS’ impressive record in foreign tournaments has been rewarded by another invitation to take part in the Nile Special fun rugby tournament that will take place at Dam waters Grounds in Jinja, Uganda next Friday.
Silverbacks reached the finals of the Bowl category in both the Hima Makerere 10s and the Nakuru sevens tournaments last year.
The one-day tournament will attract teams from Kenya and Uganda and IRB (International Rugby Board) rules for seven-a-side tournaments will be applicable.
The winners of the fifth edition will get Shs1.5m, while runners-up will walk away with Shs0.5m.
Meanwhile, the team is currently in Asia for the Hong Kong 10s which kicks off today. 17 teams from Wales, New Zealand and Fuji will take part in the two-day tournament which is a curtain raiser for the famous IRB World Seven series.
