Bank of Kigali has awarded the most outstanding of the Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA)’s 28th batch of graduates.
AUCA’s Marvella Kameca and Claver Batunzi got awarded one million Rwandan francs each. They are among 621 others who graduated from AUCA on December 11.
The ceremony officially ushered Second and Third Degree University graduates from various fields such as Health, Finance, Technology, Accounting, Mathematics, Education into the labor market.
Citing BK, AUCA vice chancellor Kelvin Onongha, PhD, stated that the school owes a major part of its success to its dedicated partners.
He said, "BK is one of our admirable partners and we are very happy with the cooperation between us. We are touched by their support in promoting education and look forward to continuing working with them in the future.”
As part of the collaboration, BK offers training and internship to AUCA’s students. It also employs its graduates and rewards those who have successfully completed their courses.
"We also commend them for opening doors to our graduates and mentorship opportunities to our students, giving them the skills to expand their horizons,” Onongha added.
BK Chief Commercial Officer, Benjamin Mutimura, also commended the awardees for their hard work and welcomed the graduates to the job market.
"I was recognised for having an outstanding performance in Technology. This showed me that we don’t do this just for ourselves but for the whole community, and that there are those, like BK, who take note of that,” commented Marvella Kabeca, one of the awardees.
Adventist University of Central Africa has been in operation for 38 years and is the first private university to be founded in Rwanda. It has two branches in Kigali City and offers education in different fields. It is known for producing some of the best IT graduates in the country.
AUCA's programs are also accredited by the church's international accrediting bodies, the International Board of Education (IBE) and the Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA), in addition to Rwanda's Higher Education Council.
