KARONGI – Barely a month after arresting two drug traffickers in a joint operation by the Police and Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA), another notorious marijuana trader was last week rounded up in Karongi district.

Imacculate Nyirarukundo, 29, was caught at her house in possession of 3,000 rolls of marijuana with a street value estimated at Rfw300,000.

A Police officer who arrested her had earlier on posed as  a customer, after getting a tip off by residents.

Sources say that Nyirarukundo used to disguise as a fish monger  for a long time before she finally run out of luck.
Appearing before Karongi Intermediate Court last week, Nyirarukundo confessed to the offence.

If found guilty, Nyirarukundo faces not more than five years in jail, according to prosecution.
