MUHANGA – The new Kavumu College of Education (KCE) student’s guild council, said at its swearing in ceremony last  Saturday, that advocating for student’s welfare and quality education will be among their  top priorities during its term.

The swearing ceremony of the seven-member council was witnessed by the students’ community and administration.
Janvier Nkurunziza and Regine Muramutsa, were sworn in as guild president and vice president respectively.

The outgoing guild president, James Andrew Iyamuremye, cited registering all students in health insurance, contributing (Rwf230,000) to the One dollar campaign and establishing students’ clubs as among his achievements.

During the handover, he elaborated on some of the key challenges that the new guild would need to focus on. The KCE Director, Casmir Rutayitera, commended the outgoing leadership for its commitment to students’ affairs and urged the incoming team to follow their footsteps.

He said: "You are now leaders entrusted with responsibilities for the purpose of  making this community a better place than before.”

He promised that the administration will look for possible solutions to the current challenges facing the  students.
The director also handed over certificates of merit to the outgoing guild in recognition of their job well-done.
