As a way of improving communication, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Rwanda has developed its website in the country.
During a press briefing, Kayo Yamada, the Director of Communication at JICA explained that the site will serve as an online Knowledge Platform which will facilitate sharing of development skills, knowledge, and tools.
"We will be able to share development experience with various stakeholders at all levels, policy makers, development practitioners, students and academia, journalists and business sectors, she said.
Yamada also emphasized that JICA recognizes the value and the importance of partnership with public media citing the new website as a major tool that will facilitate this relationship.
"We will continue working with public media entities and individual journalists, through media briefings and through daily communications activities,” she added.
"This way we can work towards a common goal of sustainable development in Africa.”
With reference to the various bad stories that have been told about Africa, the official also assured that this is bound to change, saying that through the new site, the outside world will get a glimpse of Rwanda’s beauty.
"It is our responsibility as a development practitioner to make sure that we also communicate to the rest of the world the positive images of Africa,” she said.
