THE national rugby team-Silverbacks flies to Hong Kong this afternoon determined to impress in their first high profile international engagement- Hong Kong 10s, according to caretaker coach Gerald Nsenga.

Nsenga reckons that for rugby to be taken seriously in the country, Silverbacks need to make an impact in such international tournaments.

"This is a golden opportunity for us to show the world that rugby in this country has made positive strides.”

The boys have been training hard for the last six weeks and we are sure they will give a good account of themselves,” said Nsenga.

The contingent of 13 players, team manager and coach will leave abroad Kenyan airways for the two-day event which acts as a curtain-raiser for the IRB Sevens World Series-one of the most evenly contested events on the International Rugby Board (IRB) calendar.

This year, the World Series will attract New Zealand, Samoa, Fiji, England, Argentina, Australia and Kenya.
