The 20th ordinary Meeting of the East African Community (EAC) Council of Ministers started yesterday in the Tanzanian town of Arusha.
Speaking to The New Times, the Minister for EAC Affairs, Monique Mukaruliza, said that the council is expected to consider and make recommendations on several reports from EAC Organs.
"We shall examine various reports from EAC departments and make recommendations on them” she said
She added that the council of ministers will consider the draft EAC annual reports for the financial year 2007/2008 and 2008/2009, and a progress report on the implementation of the EAC Common Market Protocol.
According to a statement from the meeting, the session will also act on reports from the, Secretariat, the Legislative and Court of Justice.
Also on the agenda are Lake Victoria Basin Commission, Lake Victoria Fisheries Organization, the Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA), the East African Development Bank, and the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA).
