Editor, People living in Remera are troubled by the lack of access to functioning ATM machines at banks. There are two in the area known as ‘Kisimenti’ - one at Fina Bank and one at Eco Bank. Most of the time, the ATM at Fina Bank has no money in it, or it is only able to dispense a maximum of Rwf 20,000 in Rwf1,000 notes. The ATM at Eco Bank a few doors down has been ‘Temporarily out of Service’ since August 2009.
Editor,
People living in Remera are troubled by the lack of access to functioning ATM machines at banks.
This has lead to people being unable to withdraw cash in the area, without having to go to Kimironko market, the airport or the Novotel/Laico hotel. It really inconveniences people - and it is a major reason, why, for example the BCR at Kisimenti is alwaysovercrowded.
More people should be encouraged to have ATM cards in Rwanda – even shops should allow goods to be bought using cards. And we need ATM machines that work reliably!
