APR coach Egidia Kayitesi has vowed to halt AS Kigali’s run in the league when the country’s big guns face off on Sunday at Nyamirambo’s regional stadium.

APR has been trailing the champions since day one of the league but the military side coach knows defeating the Kigali city council side will not only take them top of the table but also give his team a huge psychological advantage in the title race.

"We are determined to win this year’s title and to do this; we have to beat AS Kigali.”

Since the league’s inception in 2008, both clubs have won the league once, APR in 2008 and AS Kigali the following year. With two games to crown off the first round, AS Kigali enjoys a two-point lead over their rivals.
