Kung fu championship set

THE second national Kung fu Wushu championship will be held this month, according to the Kung fu federation president Yassin Mubarak Uramukiwe. The one day event which had been scheduled for early this month was postponed after clubs failed to agree on the venue.

THE second national Kung fu Wushu championship will be held this month, according to the Kung fu federation president Yassin Mubarak Uramukiwe.

The one day event which had been scheduled for early this month was postponed after clubs failed to agree on the venue.

But Uramukiwe has now confirmed that the tournament will be held on March 28 in Rubavu and that 26 clubs have confirmed participation.

"The tournament will now be held in Rubavu’s Cultural centre.”

With ten new clubs, Uramukiwe also expects stiff competition this year.

Some of these include: Kigali Shaolin Temple,  Police Kung-Fu Wushu club, Kimisagara Hung-gar Club,  Mask de la Paix,  Scropion Chach wan club, Wushu Kimisagara club,  Nyanza Lion King Shaolin Temple,  Muhanga Shaolin Tiger Club,  Rubavu Shaolin temple, National University of Rwanda Shaolin Temple, I.S.A.E Mountain Gorilla Kung-fu Association, K.I.E Kung-fu club, KIST Kung-fu Wushu Association, Musanze Shaolin Temple, Virigo Fideris Kung-fu Wushu club, Ruhango Shaolin Temple, Black Eagles Hung gar club, Rebero Punch Lam Club, Rugarama Tai-chi Chuan Club, Joc Tai-chi chuan Club, Mageragere Tai-chi Chuan club, Gasabo Hung-gar Club, White Horse Club Rafiki, Shaolin du Nord de Kabusunzu and Rusizi Kung-fu Association.
