MUHANGA – The State Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Mathias Harebamungu, last week commissioned 75 classrooms constructed under the Nine Year Basic Education Program (9YBE) in Muhanga district. “The work done is commendable and we shall support efforts to complete the remaining schools,” Harebamungu said at Munyinya Primary School in Shogwe sector.
MUHANGA – The State Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Mathias Harebamungu, last week commissioned 75 classrooms constructed under the Nine Year Basic Education Program (9YBE) in Muhanga district.
"The work done is commendable and we shall support efforts to complete the remaining schools,” Harebamungu said at Munyinya Primary School in Shogwe sector.
"Our achievements cannot be distorted by any negative ideas and we are going to continue this pace of development.”
The Mayor of Muhanga, Yvonne Mutakwasuku, revealed that the classrooms cost Rwf35million and more 114 classroom blocks will be constructed by the end of this year.
Different stake holders contributed towards the construction, including parents, the province, Education Ministry, prisons, security forces and schools.
Residents commended the government for its commitment to improving the education system in Rwanda, and students promised to use the new classrooms appropriately.
The function was attended by the provincial Governor, Fidele Ndayisaba and various district officials, who inspected some of the exemplary schools in Munyinya.
