Silverbacks profiles

For a team (Silverbacks) dominated by youngsters, it’s surprising to see that they have not lost focus of the task that lies ahead-after all…. It’s still rugby.

Six days before the team heads to Asia (Hong Kong), Times Sport continues to run you through some of the players’ profiles.

Olivier Uwamahoro, Centre

IT’S true that at first sight, rugby seems to be people falling on each other in a pile. In fact, some relate it to mobile wrestling. You should watch ‘Invictus’, one kid actually thought that players actually punch each other.

How off the mark is that! Well, Uwamahoro used to think the same way but has since come to appreciate the game. As a Centre, he has a very pivotal role. He carries his 68kgs well and can pack in a tackle too.
