RWANDA‘s cross country team was expected to start residential training yesterday ahead of the World cross country championship due in Bydgoszcz, Poland on March 28.

The national team head coach, Eric Karasira told Times Sport yesterday that they were waiting for a tender from the Ministry of Sports (Minispoc) to confirm who will accommodate the national team.

"We are only waiting for communication from the Sports Ministry.”

Eric Sebahire, Felix Ntirenganya, Evariste Nzabonimpa, Claudette Mukasakindi, Gervais Hakizimana, Pelagie Musengimana and Francine Ingabire were expected to join camp immediately while Sylvain Rukundo and Jean Baptist Simuceka, who have spent two months undergoing training in Italy, would only link up with the team in Poland later next week.

The men will compete in the 12km race while their female counterparts will run in the 8km category.

Last year, Rwanda had a forgettable display in the championship which was held in Jordan.
