A team comprising Joseph Semwaga, Steven Katwiremu, Fraterne Rubangura and Emmanuel Sengamungu posted a team total of 110 stable ford points to win the Rwanda edition of the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival at Kigali golf course yesterday. The team comprising Davis Kashaka, Henry Rwigamba, Francois Rugomboka and Jack Kayonga finished second with 102 points. Third place went to the team of Louis Kamanzi, Marcel Byusa, Manu Rugomboka and Makolo on 97 points. Twelve teams took part in the competition with best three scores accounted.

The best individual golfer in handicap 9 and below was Katwiremu with 39 points after scratching four holes while Jack Kayonga was second on 38 points and Kashaka third with 37 points.
The inaugural Tusker Malt Golf Carnival attracted over 70 local golfers.
Katwiremu was the top scorer in the group on 39 points while Semwaga posted 37 points, Rubangura added to the team’s aggregate with 34 points and Sengamungu, had the lowest score on 32 points.
The winning quadruplet will represent Rwanda at the grand finale of the Tusker Malt Golf Carnival which will be held on May 21 at the Muthaiga golf club, Kenya where about 200 golfers from Eastern Africa will meet to compete for the ultimate prize, a golf trip for four to South Africa.
