Rwanda, Australian parliaments hold talks

The president of the Senate, Dr. Vincent Biruta, is currently in Australia where he is expected to meet parliamentary officials with an aim of establishing firm cooperation between both parliaments. A statement issued by Parliament reads that Biruta, met the President of the Australian Senate, John Hogg, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Harry Jenkins.

SEEKING COOPERATION; Dr. Vincent Biruta

The president of the Senate, Dr. Vincent Biruta, is currently in Australia where he is expected to meet parliamentary officials with an aim of establishing firm cooperation between both parliaments.

A statement issued by Parliament reads that Biruta, met the President of the Australian Senate, John Hogg, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Harry Jenkins.

During their discussions the officials agreed to put in place a cooperation framework whereby the two respective Parliaments would be exchanging experience and knowledge.

Biruta has since visited several departments of the Australian parliament including the Information Systems and Publishing Department which broadcast live all the activities taking place in the House.

He was yesterday scheduled to travel to Sydney where he was expected to meet Hope Rwanda team leaders; Matthew Hope and Michelle Shaw.

Biruta is also expected to meet with Australia Africa Business Council, hold a roundtable discussion with the University of Sydney, and the Rwandan community living in Sydney.
 
He is accompanied by the Rwandan Ambassador to Japan, Antoine Munyakazi Juru.
