THE unending financial woes at Rayon Sport have struck again after the Blues’ decision to pull out of the women football league.

The club’s Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya told Times Sport that the club does not have funds to finance the women’s team leaving them with no option but to withdraw from the league.

"We have failed to meet the team’s day to day expenses, so we decided to opt out of the league.”

"One of our members had promised to sponsor the team’s duration in the league but he seems to have backtracked on his promise,” Gakwaya added.

The Chief Executive Officer of the national football federation (Ferwafa) Jules Kalisa confirmed the exit yesterday.

"We received their request to cease being in the league and we have agreed.” Jules said.

By the time of their exit, the team was still chasing for their first league point. From their four league goals, Rayon had lost all and conceded 20 goals.

Rayon’s men side was also embroiled in financial woes last month when players refused to train after going two months without pay.
