THE National social security fund (Caisse Sociale) has boosted the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Rwanda with Rwf 2.5million for the first phase of the sitting volleyball and sitball which rolls off this weekend in Rubavu.

The NPC-Rwanda president Dominique Bizimana says that the money will aid teams that are short of funds for basic things like transport and allowances for their players.

"It is a timely contribution and a huge relief for us because many teams are short of funds for transport and allowances for their players.

For now, Caisse Sociale is only sponsoring the first phase although they could consider offering their support for the other phases,” he added.

Eight teams will take part in the men’s sitball category and they include: Huye, Kivu team, THT, Intwari, UNR, Gatagara (Butare) Gatagara (Nyanza) and Gicumbi, while the ladies fray will comprise of four clubs-Kivu, THT, Kigali Stars and Intwari.

The second phase will take place in Butare while the 3rd and 4th phases will take place in Nyanza and Kigali respectively.
