APR showed how lethal they can be in front of goal after putting nine past Ruhango in one of three games played yesterday in the national women league.
The military side, which lifted the league title in 2008, was unforgiving against a weak Ruhango side. Sylvie Uwimana and Fatuma Hakizimana scored hat-tricks in the first half while Annet Nakimbugwe and Anatholie Nirere completed the routing with two goals each to maintain pressure on league leaders and defending champions AS Kigali.
Earlier in the day, the league’s top scorer Mefya Hakizimana took her tally to 15 goals after AS Kigali’s 5-0 win over Rubavu at Kicukiro.
The 16-year-old recently claimed that she can rewrite record books by netting 50 goals. Presently, she is 35 goals shy with 12 games to go.
Farida Sonya added a brace to maintain the city council’s grip at the top with 21 points. APR have 19 points.
