World  renowned singer and author, Sara Groves will arrive in the country on Tuesday march 9.

Local gospel singer, Dieudonné Karangwa, alias Shabani, confirmed Sara’s visit, saying that it will be her third visit to the country.

According to Patrick Kanyamibwa, a journalist with igihe.com, Groves was last in the country in 2005 during Pastor Rick Warren’s visit to Rwanda.

"Sara will be in the country for one week, and the main aim of her visit is to support orphans and needy people,” Kanyamibwa said.

This is the second time Food for the Hungry, a Christian relief and development organisation supporting work in Africa, Asia and South America, has invited Groves to Rwanda.

Groves will stage two concerts in Mbuye, Gitarama and at Kigali Serena Hotel, on 11th and 12th respectively. Local gospel artists, including Shabani will perform in support of the campaign.
