The Social Security Fund of Rwanda, popularly known as CRS,  has paid over Frw600m to 309 residents of Cyeru cell in Gacuriro sector, Gasabo District.

The residents have been compensated to allow the Social security Fund, construct about 565 houses in place.

The planned housing units range from medium standard, medium high standard and block (flats).

‘‘We are targeting to mortgage the houses to the public immediately after completion,” the Social Security Funds’ Joseph Barinda said.

After completing the development, a nursery school, primary school and shopping mall are planned to be built in place.

Barinda said 358 people out 416 (about 81 percent) in Cyeru cell had already signed the documents showing that their properties were duly valued and priced.

However 58 people (about 19 per cent) had not signed the documents by press time protesting what they called low pay for their properties.

But management of Social Security Fund says that is the current market value of government properties.
