Premier inspects development projects

MUHANGA – The Prime Minister, Bernard Makuza on Thursday commended residents of Rugendabari sector in Muhanga district, for their positive response to the government’s development programmes.

MUHANGA – The Prime Minister, Bernard Makuza on Thursday commended residents of Rugendabari sector in Muhanga district, for their positive response to the government’s development programmes. 

He made the remarks as he toured development projects being undertaken by  residents in Nyundo village under the Vision Umurenge Project (VUP). He was accompanied by provincial and district leaders.

Some of the toured activities included a  newly constructed community settlement, feeder roads, water and electricity projects, schools and consolidated farmlands.

The residents also set up a communal livestock keeping farm with 19 exotic cows, and are planning to construct a health centre.

Makuza counselled, "these activities should be properly managed because the government would like to see residents taking charge of transforming their lives.”

He urged residents to work together and collaborate in order to maintain peace and harmony.

Residents lauded the government for its support towards rural development, noting that their welfare has been transformed.
