After losing 4-2 against AS Kigali, SC Kiyovu will be looking to regain the form again and will be put to scrutiny on Saturday, December 10, when they take on Police in the Rwanda Premier League at Kigali Stadium.
Kiyovu faces an ambitious side that made their title intentions clear when signing Vincent Mashami as head coach. A win will put them in third place, with 24 points, while Police's win can see them jump to third place with 23 points.
"The last two matches were not good for us despite the opposition because we could have earned more points. But we are trying to get to be competitive again. I believe we shall win against Police,” Kiyovu captain Serumogo said.
The Green Baggies side is fourth in the league standings with 21 points, seven points behind leaders Rayon Sports, who will be in action on Sunday, December 11, when they face troubled Rayon Sport at Kigali Stadium.
Mashami, who has lifted the Police to winning ways and to the relative safety mid table, will be hoping to maintain his team’s wining run that has reaped three back-to-back wins.
However, Police go into this encounter with an in-form team motivated by a 2-0 win over Rutsiro.
"Our target is to finish as high as possible in the league and just like all our games this season, we want to win. SC Kiyovu is a tough team but we want to emerge victorious and bag all maximum points,” Mashami said.
Police are sixth with 20 points after winning six matches, drawing two and losing four matches.
In the last 10 matches, Police have won five, drawn one and lost four matches.
Kiyovu, who has won the league title three times with their last one in 1993, jumped from bottom to fourth position with 21 points after winning six matches, drawing and losing three matches.
