Is women emancipation misused/misinterpreted,
by both women and men?

Gabriel Gahima:  Cyane, especially when girls are given scholarships over guys yet they have less grades.

Isaac .A.Atukunda: When a man talks dirty to a woman, its "sexual harassment”, when a woman talks dirty to a man, it’s "as good as gold.” Women emancipation is totally misrepresented.

Andrew Sennabulya: Women emancipation! Equality of gender! Totally misinterpreted and misused by even those that preach it.

Primrose Akello: Gender means most marginalized groups of people. Inclusive are youth, women, children, people with disabilities…..It only emphasizes equal opportunity. Just as decentralization is misinterpreted for tribalism, the same happens to gender equality and women emancipation.

Shalom N Seth: Emancipation from where and what? People blindly sing to the Western tune. The relationship of any woman and man…husband and wife in the society is governed by the norm, values….that is where uncritical thinkers make mistakes in thinking that Women emancipation is everything.

Olivier Ndikumana : Its high time women got remembered…..Let them do whatever they please because women emancipation is yet an answer to greed, violence and all the injustices that were committed against women by their brothers, husbands and sons…men.

Gloria Batamuliza: Some women use emancipation as a milestone to despise their husbands and boyfriends…Its indeed misused.

Aisha Ntare : Gloria, its high time women stood up for their rights….Whichever precaution they take, its good if we misuse emancipation to discipline them. All the same, men as well misuse it.

Dan Muhire: True that Aisha, some men think women should provide everything for the family just because they got their freedom. Some guys even resign their office jobs, sit home and baby seat as they wait for women to bring home food…..haha. Emancipation is translated as adding more burdens to wives.
