THE Sports ministry intends to have talks with Barcelona president Juan Laporta during the latter’ s three-day work visit in the country.
Laporta, who arrived yesterday, is expected to visit refugee camps at Gihembe, Kiziba and Nyabiheke which are jointly funded by his club foundation, UNHCR and ACNUR.
The ministry’s Permanent Secretary Jean Pierre Karabaranga told Times Sport that talks would center on local football and how it can grow.
The three camps are home to over 35,000 people created as a result of the 1994 genocide against Tutsis.
Over the last two years, the Laporta charitable foundation has constructed sports facilities and care centers and helped train teachers at the camps.
