Farmers get free seeds, fertilisers

KARONGI - Over 200 local farmers from every district of the Western Province last week received free improved seeds and fertiliser to boost their agricultural produce this season. The free agricultural inputs provided by the Rwanda Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) were distributed at a ceremony held at the provincial headquarters in Karongi district.

KARONGI - Over 200 local farmers from every district of the Western Province last week received free improved seeds and fertiliser to boost their agricultural produce this season.

The free agricultural inputs provided by the Rwanda Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) were distributed at a ceremony held at the provincial headquarters in Karongi district.

The excited beneficiaries sung and danced songs of praise as they received the farm inputs along with the guidelines on how best to apply them in their gardens.

"These seeds and fertilisers will definitely increase our agricultural output and help us to get rid of poverty,”

Narsis Abimana, a farmer from Rutsiro district observed.
According Paul Jabo, the provincial Executive Secretary, the agricultural inputs will be used to determine the agricultural output this season.
