On Saturday, the ten-time league champions stunned Angola’s Recreativo do Libolo with a 1-0 victory to progress to the next round of the Orange Champions League.
However, APR head coach Erik Paske knows that there is little time to celebrate with an even tougher opponent in reigning African champions TP Mazembe in their way.
For now though, fans can celebrate APR’s victory. After a shaky first leg display which ended in a 2-all draw over two weeks ago, the army-side was expected to struggle in Angola but Sellar Didier’s strike proved decisive as APR progressed on goal aggregates (3-2).
The first leg between APR and TP Mazembe will be played in Kigali on the weekend of March 19-21 while the second round will be played in Lubumbashi two weeks later.
