I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the members of APR FC for their heroics in Angola. It must not have been easy to defeat Recreativo Desportivo do Libolo in their home stadium in Calulo. As we saw in the just concluded African Cup of Nations, Angolan football is at a superior level to any in this region, save perhaps for the Congolese league.

I had slight misgivings when I witnessed the drawn match here in Kigali, but I was pleasantly surprised by the 1-nil score APR FC mustered.

A word of warning though; APR FC’s next opponent is the Orange Champions League winner TP Mazembe of the DR Congo. This match will be extremely difficult but I have faith in the team and coaches. Let us shock Africa once again.
