A delegation from the Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville) led by their Minister of Energy and Water, Daniel Guie is in the country for a week-long visit aimed at exchanging experiences with the government and the United Nations on hydro electricity in rural areas and alternative sources of energy.

According to the UN country office, the delegation also includes Lamin Manneh, the UN Resident Coordinator in Congo Brazzaville. 

While in Rwanda, the delegation is scheduled to meet with several government officials and will also visit the Methane gas project in Gisenyi, micro hydro plants supported by the UN in Mutobo and Rubavu.

Rwanda’s UN Resident Coordinator, Aurélien Agbènonci, said he was honored to receive the delegation.

"Rwanda is paving the way in Africa in the development of new alternative sources of energy and the UN is proud to partner with the government in these endeavors and the overall efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals,” Agbenonci said.
