Former students of Ruli School of Health which was closed by the Ministry of Education are in dilemma after failing to raise the required tuition fees at the institutes they where reintegrated into.

Ruli was ordered to shut down after it failed to meet the Ministry of Education’s standards.

After the closure, the Ministry, in conjunction with the Ministry of Health, examined the students who were studying in the institution.Out of the 50 students who sat for the exam, 34 passed and were sent to various health institutes in Nyagatare, Byumba, Rwamagana, Kibungo and Kabgayi.

However, the students say the new institutes are too expensive for them to afford.

Jean Bosco Bazimaziki, one of the students, called upon both ministries to come to their rescue.

"We used to pay Rwf 550, 000 at Ruli, but now we are paying over Rwf1.7 million annually in these public institutions,” said Bazimaziki who was sent to Nyagatare School of Nursing and Midwifery.

"We cannot to pay that amount of money which is why we had initially opted for Ruli.”
