Burundi’s Apecos to play in Heroes’ tourney

BURUNDI’S handball giants Apecos have confirmed participation in a two-day national Heroes tournament set for this weekend. The opening competition on the 2010 national handball calendar, will also attract clubs from Kenya, Tanzania and a host of local clubs ranging from national league champions and last year’s losing finalists APR, National University of Rwanda (UNR), Gicumbi, SFB, KIE and Police. Apapeki Cyuru, St. Joseph Kabgayi and Appec Remera Rukoma will compete in the ladies’ fray.

The opening competition on the 2010 national handball calendar, will also attract clubs from Kenya, Tanzania and a host of local clubs ranging from national league champions and last year’s losing finalists APR, National University of Rwanda (UNR), Gicumbi, SFB, KIE and Police. Apapeki Cyuru, St. Joseph Kabgayi and Appec Remera Rukoma will compete in the ladies’ fray.

Preliminary action will be staged at KIE and Amahoro stadium while the finals in both categories will be held at Kimisagara.
